People say it’s bad bc they ain’t using it right do use it right wet your hair not to wet and mostly leave it dry but still a little wet that’s the way you get more texture bc if you just put it on with plain hair it’s just not how your supposed to use it and I also I have the most straightest hair prop and look what it did but if your going for a messy look get the texture powder I have both and use the pomade for the side of my hair and back and the texture for the middle and front and little on sides to give it that messsy look

This hair clay has such an amazing smell! It reminds me of surfing and being at the beach. It has a slight tropical, coconut aroma that is intoxicating.It comes with one of those little scoops to get the product out. You can see in the last picture I've attached that it is inside the top lid. That's a cute idea but I find I don't use them because it's easier to just use my hands.The hair product itself goes on smoothly and gives good hold and body without looking crunchy or cakey. It gives nice hold but the hair still feels good to the touch without feeling dry or crunchy. Even though it looks white in the jar it does not cause any hair color change when applied. It also washes out easily without leaving residue on my hair. Overall, this is a great product!

Adds Texture & Volume.My husband has been using styling gel for years but hasn’t been happy with it. I ordered this for him to see how well he liked it. He loves it. I had to show him how to use it because even though I had told him it shouldn’t take very much…he didn’t listen! …he was too used to styling gel! The first time he used it, he used way too much! He was so excited at how well it was holding…only it felt nasty because he had so much in it! I had him wash it out, then I showed him how I barely dipped my fingertips into the styling clay getting just a small amount on each fingertip. Then I rubbed both hands together, spreading the styling clay on the ends of my fingers on both hands. Then ran my fingers through his hair several times spreading the stying clay into his damp hair as I combed his hair back which my fingers into the style he wears his hair. It needed a little but more styling clay, so I simply repeated the same process. The second application made the perfect amount and held his hair softly in place. A little goes a long way with this styling clay. His hair looked better than it has in years! It was held perfectly in place looking soft instead of stiff like it normally did. His hair is so much softer and silkier too, it seems to condition the hair as well as styling it. I really love the way his hair looks now as apposed to how it looks when he uses the gel. And most importantly, he likes it better too! The styling clay doesn’t leave hair feeling greasy, sticky or stiff...unless you use too much. It has a pleasant smell and is reasonably priced. I definitely recommend this styling clay.

This hair clay works and holds just slightly less than most pomades on my short, fine hair. The texture is a bit more creamy than a typical pomade. It comes with a handy spoon and an inner lid to prevent contamination. The scent is a faint, pleasant honey aroma, reminiscent of raw beeswax.

This BlackMask hair clay works pretty good on my hair. I have medium/short curly hair and this clay adds a nice volume and texture. It has a thick creamy consistency and a nice buttery vanilla scent. It holds my curls in place well and it's easy to wash out without leaving a residue behind. It's also a little hydrating on my hair and it has a low shine finish.

This has become a daily staple in my husband's hair routine. It smells nice, like a coconut scent that isn't too strong. The product itself doesn't make your hands feel all gross after application and is a nice quality. My husband actually put it in one evening and forgot to wash it out and his hair was still holding in place the next morning. It just makes his hair look clean and well styled without looking like it has an insane amount of product in it. This is a very affordable product that serves its function well and holds on for a long period of time. A little really goes a long way. We will be getting more of this when the time comes to need a new container.

It's a good hair product for curly thick hair. The best part about this hair product is the scent. It's got an at the beach kinda scent that is reminiscent of sun tan lotion. It's holding capability is pretty soft and leaves my hair malleable rather than stiff and plastic feeling. I like the matted finish it leaves too. The product really functions to keep my hair from getting to puffy while enhancing my curls.

I’m looking for a hair styling product with a strong hold and true matte finish, so I ordered this to test it out. I was impressed with the high-quality packaging and appreciated the included scooping spoon, even though I don't need it. The scent is light to medium and reminds me of vanilla and coconut. It was pleasant at first, but after a few hours I found myself wishing it were more subtle as the day went on.When I unscrewed the black lid, there was a secondary plastic seal that needed to be removed to access the product. Much of the product had stuck to that lid and was a bit annoying to scrape it off and put it back into the jar.The texture is similar to soft butter, mayo, or soft frosting, if I were to compare it to common foods for reference. It is easy to scoop, spread, and work into your hair. I found that I needed to use more than expected to achieve the texture and hold I was going for. I have fine, light hair, and while this added some hold, it also left a noticeable shine that I wouldn’t expect from something advertised as a “matte finish.”This might perform better for someone with a thicker or denser hair type. It feels like a high quality product and may be a good value depending on your hair type and styling goals. I think the description would be more accurate if it said “medium hold” with a “light shine.”

BlackMask's hair clay is much softer than other clays I've tried, more like a very thick liquid paste. When opening the jar I've found that it forms a suction seal with the cover insert and consistently pulls out a huge amount of clay out with it. Haven't quite found the trick to opening the jar mess-free yet while it's more full. The jar also includes a small spatula for neater scooping which is very convenient. The clay has a nice clean and neutral scent that isn't overpowering, and it applies and holds well. It's a bit different from what I'm used to but overall I think this clay is pretty great!

My husband has a short cut and his hair grows fast so he needs something to tame it from time to time. He lies this hair clay and says he likes the consistency and the coconut smell. It does what it’s supposed to do, holds its shape and held cow licks down was smoother and not sticky like other hair clay products he’s tried. My husband said it takes a bit to dry completely but wasn’t hard to wash out. He liked that it came with a little scoop. Overall he likes it and would buy again.
